# Attestix

> Attestation Infrastructure for AI Agents - the compliance identity layer for the EU AI Act era.

# Attestix

Attestix is a Python toolkit for agent identity, credentials, delegation, provenance and signed evidence. Use its library, CLI, MCP or REST interfaces and the language-specific verifier repositories.

## Current main source

The readiness changes are merged to main. Registry publication and hosted deployment are separate events; pin the source or package revision you have reviewed.

- Credential checks bind the supported issuer and proof controller and reject ambiguous NFC-normalized keys.
- Presentations require the caller's expected challenge and domain. Trust and replay policy remain caller responsibilities.
- `workflow_complete` checks recorded documentation presence. `legal_conformity` remains `not_assessed`; declarations are drafts for provider review.
- The default REST service requires authentication and rejects non-default tenant headers. Local storage locking is not complete distributed-service acceptance.
- Local purge handles managed records and parseable local backups; it does not erase external copies.

## Application timeline

The AI Act applies in stages, depending on the system and operator role. Current dates include 2 December 2027 for specified Annex III high-risk systems and 2 August 2028 for specified Annex I systems embedded in regulated products. See the [current European Commission timeline](https://digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu/en/policies/regulatory-framework-ai).

Attestix does not establish legal conformity, certification, issuer trust or the truth of recorded claims.
